Intro
Numbness may be the norm in our life. However, creativity exists in each of us, in our souls. How to activate your artistic sensitivity and discover beauty? How to keep every single touching moment? How to reach the true ideas hidden inside yourself? How to convey a message accurately from the bottom of your heart? How to refine your expression step by step?
In the search for answers to these questions, L’Aterlier Studio presents you the Creation Workshop.
Creation Workshop was created based on the idea that design is more often targeted to meet others’ needs, yet creation should start within oneself. We will meet the same or different selves every day, but we usually choose to be a stranger and ignore ourselves. It requires sensitivity and courage to face ourselves, while it requires wisdom to develop our potentials. And this is exactly what we want to try out with everyone in this workshop.

Jewelry is chosen as the medium only because it is the carrier of communication between our body and the outside world. In this workshop, there is no specific requirement for participants to master art fundamentals or traditional jewellery-making techniques.

There are many ways to be creative, and each artist has very different methods of experiments and expressions. When we see clouds, we can make a cloud to show its changes. When we see flowers, we can make a flower to show its beauty. This is the most common figurative design, which is simply beautiful. Nature is the embodiment of beauty. It is extremely difficult to perfectly copy the beauty in nature. At the same time, artists are trying to use a more abstract expression in contemporary jewelry/contemporary design. We may take an infinite journey, from point A back to the same point after traveling all the way through the vast mysterious world. And this could be one of the creative methods we will experiment during this workshop.

About the Workshop

During this workshop, you will
  • Have an in-depth study experience following the fundamentals, concepts, creative methods and ideas of European contemporary arts and crafts creation;
  • Get inspirations from small details in life through a variety of exercises and themes, and learn how to be observant and refine your ideas;
  • Observe, learn about, respect and select different materials… Eventually, you will combine your personal experience and ideas with the materials to create artworks related to your body.

Moreover, we will teach you
  • How to capture a flash of inspiration, and turn it into something at a specific time;
  • How to express your desired effects quickly and accurately in a short time;
  • How to get rid of the illusions of reality through a process from first impressions to further discoveries, and find the purest and most touching answer(s) to yourself;
  • How to explore materials, and search for THE material(s) that can best express your ideas through creative thinking;
  • How to make high-quality artwork based on what you’ve leant in these few days.
