Under the supervision of David Bielander, you will build various press molds and experiment with the ways metal can be three-dimensionally shaped. You will learn how a hydraulic press works and the uses to which it can be put. What is it capable of, and how can it be employed to best effect?
During the development of your jewellery designs, you will look into the question of how the technical and creative potentials of this tool can be combined with your own artistic and artisanal approach. You will investigate possibilities of achieving your own personal expression. How can a technical aid of this type become part of your own design vocabulary?
With David Bielander’s help, you can test and probe ways to expand the expressive potentials of your jewellery designs.
