This 16-hour course introduces the technique of electroforming, which deposits a layer of metal onto a wide variety of objects, creating either a full or partial coating. Spread over Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, the course requires no prior jewelry experience and offers a hands-on opportunity to experiment, learn, and create unique pieces.
This course lasts 16 hours spread over 2 days, 8 hours each day.
The workshop is designed as a play space where participants can explore their creativity and conceptual thinking and create jewelry-related works, or perhaps better yet, two- or three-dimensional works related to the body.
Any technique and material that makes sense for the project can be used, so no technical knowledge (of jewelry) is required.

Minimum number of students to complete the course: 6-8.
Registration until October 31
If you are traveling from outside Madrid and need to purchase tickets or reserve accommodation, we recommend waiting until this date to confirm the course.
The technique:
Electroforming deposits a layer of metal on all types of elements, creating a full or partial coating.
This offers us the possibility of creating three-dimensional, hollow, and lightweight shapes, which we cannot achieve with other techniques such as lost-wax casting.
In this course, we'll learn how to use and configure a basic kit for electroforming jewelry pieces.
It will be divided into three sessions:
- We will use the first day to select and prepare the parts with the corresponding sealants and paints.
- On the second day, we'll place the parts in the vats to begin the electroforming process. We'll give a theoretical introduction to the technique, show a PowerPoint presentation, and show examples of finished parts. We'll explain the entire process, as well as the construction of the vat and all its components. In the afternoon, we may be able to see some finished parts, depending on the size and timing.
- The third day will consist of removing the pieces from the vats, reviewing what worked best and what didn't, and finishing the pieces to create the jewelry. We will also explain the possibility of electroengraving by changing the position of the anode and cathode.
You can bring anything you want to turn into metal (organic objects, leaves, branches, shells or plastics, or any non-ferrous material) everything is possible…
