Intro
form does not act as a superior principle that models a passive mass, since it could be said that the material imposes its own form in this forming process./ extract from Henri Focillon, The Life of Forms in Art
Between bio-design and archaic forms, between body and elementary/simple volume, between shaped clay and direct mounting metal. This plastic approach will take place in 3 phases:

1. by clay modelling, discovery of different volumes with a soft and flexible material.
2. by observation and drawing, representation in space, by outline drawing and then also by perspective with colour.
3. by analyse of the drawing expression and the meaning of the relation between shape and body, research of the right way to create a wearable object in accordance with technique related to metal or clay.

The workshop suits for those who would like to experiment new techniques relate to an in depth analyse of the connection between shape and body. This workshop will be a way to create step by step, from the development of a shape to its construction according to the most appropriate metalsmith technique. The result could be forms made of clay, fired or not, and/or forms made of metal, or both, mixing clay and metal.
