DEADLINE: 15/02/2025
In this course, the process of making your own stamps, engraving chisels, and scribes will be demystified.
All of our online workshops are recorded and, with the purchase of a seat in the class, you have access to the recording(s) between workshop sessions as well as for 45 days after the workshop ends.
The workshop will explore how to add richness and enhance enamelled pieces with the introduction of rust. We will cover the steels available and how to prepare & apply liquid enamels. We will explore mark making tools and implements and both kiln firing and torch firing techniques. After firing we will look at different ways to degrade the surface prior to rusting. Finally, we will discuss additional forming and texturing techniques and how to incorporate rust with copper.
The instructor will setup a Facebook group exclusively for this workshop.
When: 15 & 22 February 2025. 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
Cost: 145.00 US dollars
Course outcomes: At the end of the course each participant should have produced a number of samples to explore techniques covered. They should have an understanding of the ways one can abrade and degrade surfaces and how to incorporate rust in enamelled pieces. They will have the knowledge to move forward to produce jewellery and/or artworks.
About Amanda Denison:
Amanda Denison is an English Jewellery Artist, living and working in West London. She studied Fine Art before training in jewellery-making. Her approach is experimental.
