Stefano Marchetti: Hacking Ideas

The goal of this workshop is to focus on how ideas in jewellery may be developed, disassembled and reconstructed in order to get their final shape.
During the four days, the marathon will start with the analysis of a classical design icon by trying to understand how it works. This the experience will continue by hacking the classical object, piece by piece, to rebuild it in a new shape and function. 
The course will focus on the theoretical aspect of the subject “design in contemporary jewellery” but at the same time, you will be involved in practical exercises to intensify your techniques of making jewellery. While working and discussing you will approach the characteristics of different techniques, and the ways in which the objects are conceived and made.
You will have the chance to share your point of view with Stefano Marchetti for a three-hundred-and-sixty degree investigation into design and ideas in contemporary jewellery.
