Catalan Crafts Participate in the First Edition of the International Biennial Révélations in China

Catalonia was chosen to present its most innovative artisanal creations in this event that took place until Monday, September 23 in Beijing, as part of Design Week. The show brought together 200 exhibitors from all over the world and welcomed more than 30,000 visitors, who came to China with the aim of becoming the main commercial platform for contemporary crafts in Asia.
Catalan participation was promoted by the Trade, Crafts and Fashion Consortium of the Department of Business and Work, which presented a selection of 10 works by artisans and designers that are part of the exhibition “Visions of Catalonia. Designing Craft", shows that closes its international tour in Beijing.
Catalan craftsmanship is participating in the first edition of the international biennial of contemporary craftsmanship and creation Révélations in China, which is being held from today until September 23 in Beijing as part of Design Week. Catalonia has been chosen to present in Le Banquet, the central exhibition area of the international salon, its most innovative design artisanal creations, together with France, Egypt, Ecuador and Georgia.
Catalan participation in the first edition of the biennial Révélations in China has been promoted by the Trade, Craft and Fashion Consortium (CCAM) of the Department of Business and Work, which has selected for the show 10 works by artisans and designers from various disciplines that are part of the "Visions of Catalonia" exhibition. Designing Craft", shows that closes its international tour in the city of Beijing. The proposals selected for the Le Banquet space are from professionals: BAG Disseny Studio, Bussoga, Ferran Collado, Oriol Guimerà for Fontini Group, Calma (Andreu Carulla), La Tornería, TORU, Wolf & Miu, Limón Studio, and Museu del Cântir d'Argentona - Argentona City Council: Quim Larrea - Óscar Tusquets - Miquel Milà - André Ricard - Carme Pinós.
The biennial Révélations has its origin in France where 5 editions have been held in Paris. Organized by the Ateliers d'Art de France, the fair now comes to China, at the National Agricultural Exhibition Center in Beijing, with the aim of becoming the main commercial platform for contemporary crafts in Asia, to be an appointment of international reference for the sector of decorative arts, design and crafts in the area. In this first edition, it will bring together for 4 days 200 exhibitors from all over the world with the expectation of welcoming more than 30,000 visitors. In the international exhibition Le Banquet, the salon wants to show and discover to visitors and professionals the wealth of contemporary craftsmanship from all over the world.
With the exhibition “ Visions of Catalonia. Designing Craft ", Catalonia claims the binomial between design and craftsmanship and shows at the international biennial Révélations de la China , its design craftsmanship: objects of daily use that bet on innovation, proximity, sustainability and social commitment. After being presented at the Center d'Artesania Catalunya, as part of the II Biennial of Catalan Contemporary Crafts, an initiative promoted by the CCAM, and participating in Dubai Design Week and Milano Design Week, the exhibition closes in the Chinese capital your international roaming.
The exhibition, curated by para designer Óscar Guayabero, is a selection of works by 24 Catalan professionals from different disciplines who are committed to hybrid, innovative, local, sustainable projects with sensitivity to work processes, both for people who they deal with production as well as environmental management. Under the concept of The beauty of Use, the exhibition shows a variety of disciplines, techniques and materials ranging from ceramics, paper, carpentry, textiles, natural fibers or 3D printing, and where they can find everyday objects, from hydraulic tiles to pitchers, from seats to lamps, or from switches to coffee makers.
