The incomprehensible and the manifestations of evil spirits and supernatural forces have always weighed heavily on the fate of men.
For this reason and in order to combat the unknown, lives were sacrificed, temples were built, gods were invoked, and protective objects, amulets, and talismans were made to overcome the fear of the occult.*
