High sensitivity is a personality trait that is increasingly recognized by sociologists, scientists and writers. Yet it still isn’t widely accepted by our society. Recently I discovered that I am highly sensitive. In this project I wanted to show both outsiders and highly sensitive people what my personal experiences and feelings are like, by translating them into jewellery. Characteristic in my work is the rhythm, regularity and repetition that refer to my personal experiences. When looking at and wearing my jewellery, people are confronted with disturbances and irritations, and get a taste of what high sensitivity can be like. I’ve chosen to involve different ways and materials to express my idea.
