. Necklace for Despots. Made for the thematic exhibition Rule the world.

. The world is full of despots who — despite their simplicity — form a surprisingly multifaceted little troop. And they do not simply want to be loved. NO, they want to be truly and sincerely loved. By everyone. Everywhere. If necessary, by force.
. But can despots really be so terrible when the people around them are always smiling, applauding and celebrating?
. “Be our light in the darkness!” the old woman said as she placed the necklace around my neck.... strange customs they have here... like in the South Seas.... only there, the welcoming garlands are made of flowers — and smell considerably better.... never mind.... all these smiling idiots…. We’ll have an easy time with them…. Now the old woman is coming with a match….
