Proof that nature has a sense of humour.
Tidbits prefer to live in small packs. Wherever they appear, things tend to get a little wild. They love sleepless nights, dazzling courtship rituals and exuberant social gatherings – not always to the delight of the more conservative forest population.
Worn around the neck, Tidbits happily engage in conversation with friends and strangers alike and are never short of something to say.

Origin: According to unconfirmed sources, Darwin's Darlings are the result of Charles Darwin's secret experiments in breeding meat-producing plants. What is certain, however, is that these cross-species mutations have by now become native here as well and, under the term "Vegan Crossover", are regarded as a welcome addition to the local fauna and flora. Confirmed observations: Bright gemstones give Darwin's Darlings a distinct advantage during courtship, while their black colouring provides perfect camouflage in the undergrowth. With sufficient affection and regular strokes, however, they unexpectedly turn light.
Behind the scenes: The inspiration for Darwin's Darlings came from an article about synthetic biology. Mice with human ears, pigs carrying human genes – blessing or curse?
I was looking for a playful way to approach this subject without taking sides. The DaDas – half animal, half fruit – communicate our longing for an improved nature in a humorous and light-hearted way as an entirely new species.
