In the 1960’s, Germany’s metallic craft artist Ebbe Weiss-Weingart started to emphasizing on her personal expression of metal art through the technique of electroforming in which results in keeping metal materials at its most natural texture which differs to metal polishing. The electroforming style of arts has continued on even today where many artists are still creatively embracing such a technique. Ebbe Weiss-Weingart counts among the pioneers of contemporary art jewellery.In the early 1960s, she experimented with new surface finishing methods, thus enhancing gold with an entirely new expressiveness. Later on, she started including narrative element in her pieces and now also compliments her pieces with artefacts from non-European cultures.
