Lean Back by Gaelle Van Durme
By choosing particular, almost falling, positions that are cut out of pedestals, I aim to reverse the role of wearer and object. By Using these pedestals with the imprint of a body as a support, I make them the wearers. The body in return, which lays upon these very wearers, has become the object. What then happens when the body leaves the space? Is the pedestal still a wearer or does it become an object on its very own again? Is it possible that these pieces are not only wearers or pedestals but also work by themselves?
