Estonians have always done things rhythmically – working was faster, when done in rhythm. Systematic movement encouraged a higher and more consistent quality. Our national belts were woven in rhythm. Not only that, but rhythms were also woven inside the patterns of the belts themselves - secret codes, stories, wishes, spells to protect the wearer. Rhythm is so deeply rooted in us that we act on instinct within these rhythmic configurations and we may very well not even notice that we do. But they're here, inside us all.
