Barkskin by Irina Razumovskaya

Vessel  /  Organic

The jury was fascinated by the contrasts the objects carry in themselves: On the one hand there is this minimalist form, on the other hand the artist uses an elaborate crumbling, peeling glaze that suggests transience and decay. One have to think of birch forests, which evoke a fairy-tale feeling, but also of dilapidated buildings reminiscent of past glory.
