Head piece: Crown Jewels by Isla Gilham.Found Object, Glass. 2018.Inspired by the Imperial State Crown, which is set with various different historic gemstones, my crown highlights how reusing jewels and pieces can create a piece rich in narrative and history. I was inspired by the Swarovski rings, almost made to be intertwined and twisting. I set myself the target of not wasting a scrap, dissecting and carefully placing each section into its place. Atop the crown, sits a crystal from a chandelier, homage to the positioning of Cullinan number 2 diamond..
