A glimpse into a childhood memory, when the world was as beautiful as it could ever be: while playing in the water on a hot summer day. The sun is reflected on the surface of the water and makes the water splashes all around you shine. Everything is glittering and in movement.
For Janika Slowik these little effects that make the world more worth looking at are jewellery moments. In her project she created pieces that play with the surrounding light: they reflect it, split it into rainbows and interfere with it. The pieces work as jewellery moment catalysators. Through wearing them, the wearer and viewer see more of these precious little details, making their world look more beautiful.
