"Revolutions are preached by the outsiders of the better class and seldom by the Wretched of the Earth. The revolutionaries who incite the people to revolt, do not belong to the group they urge to stand up against injustice. They are economists, philosophers and scholars who identify themselves with the oppressed. Was it not Robespierre in the French Revolution who called to battle against the bourgeoisie, while he himself belonged to this class? Did Karl Marx, who urged workers tofight against capitalism, ever experienced the pleasure of calluses on his hands? Or did Mao Zedong, who organized the peasant population, ever lay his hands on the plough to farm the land? I followed this tradition.
