“Saint Quatorze parody”
Since the industrial revolution, the value of craftsmanship has gradually been replaced by the symbolic value of a brand. This meant that ‘fake’ luxury took the place of preciousness, and people began to consume cheap products en masse. The result is a decadent society that consumes imitations and cliché images as ‘proof’ of financial status. 'Saint Quatorze Parody' questions the value of making. It uses the characteristics of cheap production as a starting point for designs such as playing cards, an organiser, a table, a cabinet and cups, all with a high gadget feeling. The designs are brought together in an installation that evokes a fictitious brand.
