Jury: The seemingly fragile tea containers impressed the jury by its combination of Japanese tradition and modern technology, by its intersection of digital and analogue. The inclusion of handicraft in this case urushi lacquer lend the works which are relating to mass production techniques authenticity and individuality. At the same time, the works show a deep interest in decoration and surfaces.
