The love for products created through manual labour is inherent to being human. This can be seen in the proud way we declare that our purchased goods are ‘handmade’. Even so, western society is losing touch with this property as a result of over-digitalisation and the resulting over-consumption. In “Métal Vivant”, the importance of craft is proven through the creation of handmade objects in aluminium. Organic shapes referring to sea life are brought to life by hammering, cutting and folding this metal, which is most often associated with mass production.
