Hong Nan Lü Nü, 红男绿女 by Maarten van der Vegte

“Hong Nan Lü Nü” is Chinese for “red men green women in urban life”.
China becomes more and more a place where there is space and possibility
to seek what you want. To connect and get in touch with the things you like,
weither this is a thing or a person, man or woman. “Hong Nan Lü Nü”
symbolize the men and women who seek adventure, pleasure and challenge
in constant encounter in urban life. This piece is part of a whole new range
of jewellery that will be more cross-cultural and cross-border.
By using traditional Chinese expressions with materials and other elements
that is new to the Chinese jewellery scene, I translate them into jewellery
that has a Chinese impression, but is made by a European.
