Matilde Mozzanega. Necklace: Transparent Waste, 2018. Swarovski crystals, recycled plastic pouches, clear vinyl tubing, Swarovski brass lobster clasp and handmade brass tube fittings.. My inspiration came from the plastic film protecting the Swarovski pieces we were working with. Swarovski crystals are vacuum sealed within recyclable plastic pouches and form playful, contemporary necklaces. The innovation rests with the possibility of exchanging pouch pendants with existing chains or swapping them with someone else. The design is a commentary on the current and urgent issue of waste related to plastic packaging..
