As a Korean-American, my artwork embraces the essence of traditional Korean art and repetitive geometric sequences. I create wearable art jewelry that is meant to be the center piece on the torso as a pendant. They have a presence where the weight is felt but do not distract or disregard the wearer.
When a shape or pattern catches my interest, I use digital sketching on Rhino investigating different ways to put together a pattern. Before working in metal, I first make multiple paper models that have slight variations in pattern and size until I am satisfied with the final design to create the pendant. Creating these pieces in metal, my working processes include hand-forging, fabrication, piercing, and 3D printing.
