Forgotten cottages by Noora Pesonen

Object  /  Architecture   Figurative

There are no limitations in the field of art. I wanted to use this phrase as an encouragement when I first started to sketch my idea for thesis work. The idea was simple: carved stone is blended with photographs and the underlying theme is storytelling. I was intrigued by the unusual combination. How documentaristic touch of photography will merge itself with the raw surface of stone? I tried to create quite seamless mixture and offer the viewer a feeling of connection between these two very different mediums. A serie of 18 objects, called Book of Stone was born.
