Brooch: Visión panorámica by Patricia Iglesias.Acrylic cord, jute cord, cotton, linen, jute and viscose threads, remains of curtain fabric, tulle and crea, bronze, silver, steel needle.. 2020.4.5 x 8.5 x 2.5 cm.From series: Područje.Statement for Područje series: I choose materials and methods that allow me to weave and sew to make structures that go generating a path, which I can roll up and go through in a tactile and visual way. I use laces and pieces of semi-translucent fabric, allowing the threads that I am using to peek out, letting them reveal themselves, I don't want to hide them. Weaving and tying, without letting go, I follow a path. Tensing materials, challenging them, pushing them to the limit to discover their resistance and their essence, as a metaphor for the situations that put us to the test where we discover ourselves and those around us. I see the journey that I travel with my tissue as an image of the stages lived and each component an exploration.
