The rubber has been washed, cut into fine strips and woven into intricate panels which are then layered and manipulated to create a dense, three-dimensional relief. This process draws on traditional basket-making techniques, referencing the physical labour that defines day-to-day life in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, while the regeneration and repurposing of materials, especially rubber, addresses issues of economic exploitation and environmental degradation..
