Abstract
Published: 03.08.2018
Theresa Schuker is trained as a goldsmith in Pforzheim and discovered her interest in the design field early.
Her graduation project has a strong base in a two-dimensional graphical involvement.
Everyday objects and products catch her attention, they get examined and processed later.
Theresa Schuker divides the found objects carefully into single parts before she puts them together and shapes new until now non-existing form. Essential to the creative process is the idea of appreciating already existing objects through recycling.
Theresa Schuker interest is the liaison of plastics and ceramics; she interferes with the materials to guide these into a changing love relationship. Her work expresses the analysis of two different materials in terms of colours, values and personal references. She is questioning conventional boundaries and is interested in the transformation of non-precious into precious.
