Intro
A novel about a craft-based artist struggling to make her mark in the world by creating a masterpiece. A book for anyone who has ever been or dreamt of becoming an art student - or tried to live with one.
Seven years have passed since Hanna left Konstfack. She has completely lost contact with her old classmates, who are now running a successful gallery for contemporary jewelry. In the evenings, Hanna sits at the workbench in her apartment in the suburbs of Stockholm, creating jewelry that no one will ever see.
One day when she returns home from her day job at a nursing home, she finds a letter on the doormat: an invitation to a workshop at Gallery Koncept. Hanna realizes that this is her only chance of making her way back into the jewelry world, and decides to give it everything she's got.

Ädellaboratoriet is the story of an artist's desperate struggle to be seen and recognized through her work. It's an account of the unspoken hierarchies and the destructive forces within the art world—but also a passionate declaration of love for the arts and crafts.
