Intro
With the awarding of the Friedrich Becker Prize Düsseldorf, worth 10,000 Euro and an endowment of Hildegard Becker (1928–2018), the Association for Goldsmiths’ Art (Gesellschaft für Goldschmiedekunst e.V.) has been commemorating the eminent goldsmith Professor Friedrich Becker (1922–1997) since 1999. As an internationally renowned fashioner of kinetic objects and designer in the midst of Düsseldorf’s art scene, Becker became a shaping influence on jewelry design in the latter half of the 20th century.
