On Thursday, 11th October 2012, Denise Julia Reytan won with her colourful necklace this year’s Award of the International Society of Friends of the Pforzheim Jewellery Museum Association (ISSP).

The award recognizes young jewellery artists with a distinctive and innovative view on new jewellery art and is sponsored by the International Society of Friends of the Jewellery Museum Pforzheim (ISSP). The collier »VERREAUXII« was purchased for the modern collection of the Jewellery Museum Pforzheim and handed over to museum director Cornelie Holzach during the award ceremony.
Denise Julia Reytan combines various materials such as fabrics, semi-precious stones, silicone and large-sized plastic ornaments in a picturesque way to very colorful pieces. »She manages to combine natural and artificial elements in a harmonic way« said director Holzach.

For the designer, her necklaces are »like poems on the body, an objectal poetry«. She sees her jewellery as snapshots of her time and the surrounding culture. Denise Julia Reytan was educated in Pforzheim and Düsseldorf. She lives and works in Berlin since 2009.

By donating an annual sponsoring purchase, the International Society of Friends of the Jewellery Museum Pforzheim awards young jewellery artists, who shall be supported and confirmed in their work. This also contributes to the expansion of the modern collection of the Jewellery Museum Pforzheim. The prize was awarded for the eleventh time this year.
