During the gala of the Legnica Jewellery Festival SILVER 2025, the results of the 33rd International Jewellery Competition were announced. Recognized as one of the most important events dedicated to contemporary art jewellery in Europe, this year’s edition attracted 268 artists from 42 countries. A total of 44 works from 22 countries were selected for the final exhibition.
The Grand Prix of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage was awarded to Konstanze Prechtl from Austria for her formally precise and conceptually subversive work that explored the notion of “flaw” as an aesthetic asset.
The Second Prize went to Antal Zilahi from Hungary for a poetic, mirror-based brooch. The Third Prize was awarded to Into Niilo from Belgium for a bold, concept-driven necklace with a hidden message.
The total prize pool amounted to nearly PLN 120,000, including 5 kilograms of silver granules sponsored by KGHM Polska Miedź S.A. (Copper Mining Company). Partners and award sponsors included Inhorgenta (Munich), Cluster Craft (London), YES Gallery, MYDAYBYDAY (Rome), Hopea, and the International Amber Association (Gdańsk, Poland), among others.
The competition exhibition is on view at the Gallery of Art in Legnica until July 20, 2025, as the central event of the Legnica Jewellery Festival SILVER – one of Europe’s longest-running and most prestigious platforms for contemporary art jewellery.
