The Enjoia't Awards come to the 29th edition this year, rewarding Time Piece – A Day In My Life, 2026 by Céline Traynor Professional category winner; and Both sides of Love (T)rouwen, 2024 by Anne Blok, Student category winner.

On 22 September, during the awards ceremony held at Disseny Hub Barcelona, the jury announced the winning works in the Professional and Student categories, as well as the pieces selected for the Association Alliages Awards.

For this edition, the jury selected 30 pieces, 15 in the Professional category and 15 in the Student category, coming from different contexts and reflecting a wide range of approaches to contemporary jewellery. This edition exceptionally features three finalists in the Student category, due to a tie in the jury’s voting.

The jury was composed of seven internationally renowned professionals.

These are the Enjoia’t Awards 2026 winning pieces:

> Winner Enjoia’t Awards Professional 2026

Céline Traynor. “Time Piece – A Day In My Life”
The piece brings together two recent events in Céline Traynor’s life: her 60th birthday and her father’s Alzheimer’s diagnosis. Each date stamped onto a square evokes a memory from the calendar. Personal and symbolic, this interactive piece features ingenious connections that allow it to be worn in three different ways. As a single, long piece, it reveals all her birthdays. When the two ends are joined, only half of the blank reverse sides remain visible, evoking her father’s memory. A chain mechanism “closes” the piece to preserve intimacy, like a Venetian blind.

The jury selected this piece as the winner for the sensitivity with which Traynor transforms a deeply personal experience into a work of universal significance. Within a single piece of jewellery, 60 years of life coexist: what we remember, what we accumulate, what we inherit, and also what we inevitably begin to lose.
The jury particularly highlighted the coherence between the concept and the final piece: The use of materials, the manufacturing process and even the photographs support the discourse in a very balanced way. It is important to say that it is a manifesto piece and that it speaks for itself.
We were particularly interested in how this emotional content ceases to be merely symbolic and becomes a physical experience. The piece has weight. The person wearing it does not simply contemplate or interpret a story, but feels it on the body. The weight of the metal thus becomes the weight of years lived, memories, affections, absences and all the experiences accumulated throughout a life. It was this depth, combined with a strong formal restraint, that particularly moved the jury: A piece that is minimalist yet complex, delicate yet heavy, intimate yet universal. A jewel capable of speaking about memory through its absence, about time through its weight, and about an entire life through a single object.

> First Finalist Enjoia’t Professional 2026

Seulgi Kwon. “Voyage of small beings”
Voyage of Small Beings imagines unknown forms of life that exist beyond familiar systems of classification. Shaped through the fluid properties of silicone, the work presents proliferating organic structures that appear both strange and alive. Worn on the body, its changing visual impressions invite us to reconsider how life is perceived and recognised, expanding conventional conceptions of living beings.

The jury described the proposal as a singular universe that coexists with the body and effectively sustains the artist’s discourse and intention, at the meeting point between the natural and the artificial.

> Second Finalist Enjoia’t Professional 2026

Xihan Zhai. “Where Fog Rests”
As a small sculpture, the work exists on its own. When worn on the body, it finds a temporary place. Breath, movement and light keep it in a constant state of transformation. The body is not a background, but a place where fog comes to rest. The lapis lazuli forms appear as traces within the fog, emerging and disappearing with each breath. The body becomes a slowly moving landscape, and the jewellery a small fragment of weather resting upon it.

The jury selected this work as a finalist for the delicacy of its execution. We were particularly interested in how the body ceases to be understood as a mere support or inert background and becomes a slowly moving landscape, an essential condition for the work to be completed. The jewellery does not impose itself on the skin; it rests upon it like a fragment of weather, ephemeral and ever-changing.
It is this poetics of impermanence, combined with a remarkable formal restraint, that makes Where Fog Rests such an evocative proposal. A work capable of transforming pause, air and the vital pulse into artistic matter.

> Winner Enjoia’t Awards Student 2026

Anne Blok. “Both sides of Love (T)rouwen”
The white front of this piece symbolises connection, represented by countless loops. The reverse symbolises loss: the loops have been cut and blackened.
The cross-stitch is created using authentic Zeeland mourning beads. In Dutch, trouwen means to marry, while rouwen means to mourn. The proximity between these two words becomes the conceptual starting point for the work. The two sides of the necklace embody this duality. White evokes union, celebration and the bonds we build; black evokes rupture, absence and mourning. The mourning beads, some of which belonged to the artist’s grandmother, introduce an intimate dimension that connects personal history with a collective tradition.

The jury selected Anne Blok as the Student Award winner for the sensitivity and maturity with which she addresses the relationship between love and loss. We were particularly interested in her ability to understand opposites not as distant realities, but as emotions that exist remarkably close to one another. We love because we can lose; and the pain of loss is also a measure of the intensity of what we have loved. To celebrate and mourn, to unite and separate, to preserve and to lose. Both Sides of Love brings these tensions together in a single object and reminds us of the fragility with which love, loss and life coexist. A deeply personal work that, precisely through its intimacy, succeeds in speaking of a universal experience.

> First Finalist Enjoia’t Student 2026

Bárbara García García. “Great again? – Peça del projecte A LA FRONTERA”
To turn borders into a seam, an embroidery; not a cut. Lines that connect rather than separate. Perhaps this goal seems impossible, but so too might the idea of stitching stone. From this dream comes the breastplate Great again?, in which two pieces of alabaster depict the outlines of the American continent, connected by reused threads woven around the stone and joining its borders.

The jury particularly valued the relationship between the materials and the concept of the work: The combination of the two materials not only contributes to the discourse and title of the piece, but also raises questions related to the use and reuse of materials, and to textiles as an element of connection and repair.

> Second Finalist Enjoia’t Student 2026

Chancy Pan. “Pinch”
Pinch recreates the moment when skin is stretched and held under tension. Using the malleability of metal, the bracelet imitates the raised folds and compressed volume of pinched skin. The piece transforms a brief bodily reaction into a lasting physical imprint, inviting viewers to recall the sensation through their own bodies.

For the jury, it is a work based on an interesting preliminary study of the final piece.” They also highlighted that “the execution is excellent and can recall important references in contemporary jewellery, such as Gerd Rothmann’s body casts and body impressions, reinterpreted here in a singular way.

> Third Finalist Enjoia’t Student 2026

Yaning Liu.“Intimate Distance — Suspend #2”
Intimate Distance explores how intimacy survives within contemporary desires for protection. Hand gestures printed onto bubble wrap and embedded with pearls create a fragile boundary between touch and isolation. The work reflects the ambiguous intimacy shared between jewellery, the body and others, and raises questions about the distance that can emerge precisely from the things we use to protect what we consider valuable.

The jury highlighted this approach: The great interest of this piece is that it speaks about jewellery without making a piece of jewellery in a conventional sense. And that is also part of what contemporary jewellery can be.
They also valued the presence of the body and the tactile dimension of the work, as well as the way it addresses“the history and symbolism of the pearl from a contemporary perspective.

Association Alliages Awards
The Association Alliages Awards recognise one piece from each Enjoia’t category and offer the selected works the opportunity to become part of its international exhibition circuit. The selection was made by Juan Riusech, president of Association Alliages, taking into particular consideration the technical quality of the pieces and their potential integration into the upcoming exhibition Traces of Tomorrow, opening in Munich in March 2027.

Professional Category:
Seulgi Kwon. “Voyage of small beings”
The selection of Seulgi Kwon’s work highlighted its relationship with nature and the passage of time, as well as its technical resolution. The proposal was part of a particularly close final selection, in which different works were considered before reaching the final decision.

Student Category:
Yaning Liu. “Intimate Distance — Suspend #2”
In the Student category, Yaning Liu was selected for her poetic approach to deconstructing and presenting a pearl necklace, an approach that stood out particularly when the piece was considered in person.

About A-FAD, FAD Artists and Artisans Association.
We are the FAD Association of Artists and Artisans. At A-FAD we champion art and crafts as an intersection, as a debate: artists and artisans who question themselves together and propose together. We claim ourselves the responsibility of calling upon and dynamizing the connection between the hand and the mind. At A-FAD we believe that matter is essential to understanding our position in the world as designers, artists, artisans, and users. We enthusiastically pursue the task of supporting the artistic and artisan community from a cross-sectional perspective in which art, crafts, and contemporary jewellery share space and dialogue. Our duty is also to focus our attention on the new crafts that are emerging in a response to new creation models and to dynamise the knowledge born of materials and their properties.
