À vos corps! brings together the work of twenty artists from the Jewellery studio at the Haute École des Arts du Rhin in Strasbourg. An exhibition conceived by the Collectif ViV in partnership with the Eleven Steens art center and presented as part of the Brussels Jewellery Week.
Contemporary jewellery is a lively art form, animated by the body, simultaneously invested as a space of expression in movement and as a subject of reflection. The chosen works open up the sensorial field of the body by investing intimate narratives, through reflexive, engaged and poetic forms.
Putting forward a multiplicity of artistic approaches reveals the body as a vector of intelligibility. Each piece presented emphasizes a singular relationship to the world, whether sensual, fictional, emotional or critical.
Jewellery calls tactility, it provokes the irresistible desire for physical relation, carries with it a sense of intimacy and invokes a more intense and profound perception of objects. À vos corps! shows objects and bodies that are built in reciprocity and grow in strength.
The Collective ViV was founded in March 2019, by students of different generations from the HEAR jewellery workshop. It is our various questions - both artistic and professional - about our practice and our desire to show contemporary jewellery to the public that led us to join together. Thus, it is through events, exhibitions, conferences and debates, but also through publications, that we question the issues of contemporary jewellery in order to put them in context and in perspective.
Opening information:
Friday to Sunday
2 pm to 7 pm
