Triin and Sophia's work is both concentrated on the ground underneath our feet. What is culturally defined, how do we construct our own realities and how do we condition ourselves? Nature versus human-made.
Artist list
Triin Kukk, Sophia Zobel
With "Beneath the paving stones" (Referring to the Paris situationists) Triin Kukk and Sophia Zobel present their work together for the first time in The Pool.
The focus of Triin Kukk’s artwork lies in the observation of the every day and discovering something new in it. The artist is intrigued by vague shifts and emphasises the secondary aspects.
From her own need to take root again, Sophia Zobel studies and works with materials and traditions around her. The subjects in her work Woekeren (overgrown) revolve around this soil; looking at European symbols, often Christianised, she wants to reclaim and create jewellery that symbolises freedom of choice and (bodily) autonomy.
Opening hours: Wednesdays-Sundays 12-6 h.
Reception: from 16:00 h on Saturday the 25th of February.
