Mari Ishikawa sees a parallel world off the beaten track of everyday living, which she wants to make visible with her art.

The exhibition Border contains jewelry pieces and photographs. A ‘Border’ is limiting space, time, your personality and identity.
Two categories of jewelry are shown. The first type contains neck pieces which represent a ‘Border’.
The second category is the rings and brooches. They are silver and gold casts taken from nature and reborn as shadows in combination with diamonds, pearls or silk.
Definitively her yet Nowhere is the photo series taken in the Atacama Desert and the Easter Island in Chile in 2016 and 2017.
Mari Ishikawa interrupts for a brief moment the flow of transience; a precious object is created that has been wrenched from the cycle of life and death to stand for itself and for the moment.
