Together, European and Belgian artists revisit the notion of the reservoir in an inspiring way and invite us to question its origin, which is closely linked to Nature and the nature of Humans.
Some of the artists exhibited in Venice as well as the BeCraft member artists will make up a panel of nearly 40 exhibitors. This selection was made by Jean Blanchaert, curator of Next of Europe, one of the fifteen exhibitions of Homo Faber, presenting a selection of functional and decorative objects made by the most refined master craftsmen in Europe; assited by Irina Eschenazi.
Reservoir (of knowledge), the vase, the bowl, the amphora, ... have a primitive function, closely linked to Nature and the nature of Man. The container holds all that is material, food, History and Humanity. Creative Nature proposes this encounter between Nature's creative and the creativity of gesture. Evoked or formal, these concepts are illustrated by a hundred or so objects reinterpreted by the contemporary arts and crafts of ceramics, glass, goldsmithing, wood and textiles, sometimes using new materials such as silicone or organic materials... all of these creations call for mastery of the gesture and resolutely call for questioning the world.
At the Grande Halle des Anciens Abattoirs.
