Jewellery and silversmithing have been invited to exhibit current staff and recent alumni in Silver schools, a prestigious annual jewellery exhibition held at  Galerie Legnica, Poland during their arts festival.
 
The Festival`s present edition will comprise exhibitions, seminars, lectures and fashion shows. The main event will be the 19th International Silverart Competition MINIMUM and the accompanying exhibitions: the Silver schools exhibition, individual exhibitions from the cycle About the Artists, exhibition from the cycle Debuts and science session from the cycle The Boundaries of global Art.
 
The Silver schools series, initiated in 2000, is an annual event  presenting leading European schools active in the filed of jewellery through works of its faculty, alumni and students.
Presentations so far include Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Prague, ALCHIMIA Contemporary Jewellery School in Florence, Eesti Kunstiakadeemia from Talin, Escola Massana from Barcelona, Le Arti Orafe from Florence, Oslo National Academy of the Arts and Akademie der Bildenden Künste from Munich, Staatliche Zeichenakademie from Hanau, National Institute of Art Pietro Selvatico from Padova and Academy of Fine Arts from Vilnius, UCE Birmingham from Birmingham, Konstfack from Sweden, Academy of Fine Arts and Design from Bratislava, South Karelia University of Applied Sciences from Lappeenranta, Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague, University of Applied Sciences from Düsseldorf, ESAD, Arts and Design Academy from Matosinhos, School of Design of Pforzheim University.

The school which will be presented this year are the Department of Jewellery and Silversmithing - Edinburgh college of Art,  the Department of Gemstone & Jewellery Design of University of Applied Sciences – Trier in Idar-Oberstein and Escola d’art del Treball, Barcelona.  The exhibition will be shown in Legnica and then travel to some Polish cities.
 
Edinburgh college of Art has invited 9 recent graduates from our MA and BA Hons programmes including current staff Susan Cross, Lin Cheung and Stephen Bottomley.
