Yoshiko YamamotoUpon graduating from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston in 1973, Yamamoto was invited to participate in her first group exhibition at the prestigious Elements Gallery in Greenwich, CT. Her pieces were showcased alongside the works of contemporary masters in the field: Jamie Bennett, Imogene Geiling, and Ramona Solberg. In 1974, Yamamoto accepted a teaching position in the Department of Metals at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts,Boston, where she taught until 2011. Yamamoto generously shared her time and knowledge teaching a wide range of metalsmithing techniques, including raising, repousse, chasing, marriage of metals, inlay, granulation, reticulation, sand-casting, etching, patination, enameling and Japanese surface design techniques including Rokusho.
