An exhibition with new works by Beate Klockmann and Philip Sajet. The tensions between both have led to each new work once again becoming a fascinating object of desire.
Artist list
Beate Klockmann, Philip Sajet
Couples in jewelry
Meanwhile, 12 years after they got to know each other, everything has changed and everything has stayed just the same. Philip was a young, highly promising artist on the jewelry stage and Beate was a younger and equally promising student at Burg Giebichenstein. At the time a lecturer said to the guest lecturer, “Talk to Beate, you’ll have a lot to tell each other.” Beate asked Philip to talk about jewelry and Philip spoke for too long and said too much, and Beate said, “And now tell me something beautiful”.
Since then Philip has been trying to influence Beate in all kinds of ways and – whether it is a blessing or not – he has not succeeded. The tensions between the different cultures – one of them a child of the communist era in which silence was golden, and the other a child of the ancient and wandering people for whom the word is golden – have led to each new work once again becoming a fascinating object of desire. The surprise is twofold; they surprise not only themselves, but also each other.
