Intro
The Kinematics is an exhibition that expands and reinterprets the concept of kinematics—a branch of mechanics concerned with motion—through the language of contemporary jewelry.

Bringing together three metal artists whose practices explore mechanical movement and the aesthetics of precision engineering, the exhibition proposes new sculptural possibilities emerging at the intersection of craft and engineering.

The works presented in the exhibition move beyond conventional approaches to jewelry-making, emphasizing complex structures, the organic integration of mechanical components, and the dynamic qualities generated through motion. Interlocking and functioning elements transcend mere ornamentation, forming distinct mechanical systems that create new sensory experiences through interaction with the wearer.

By traversing the boundaries between technology and art, engineering logic and craft sensibility, these works reveal the expanded potential of contemporary metalwork and jewelry. In particular, the aesthetics derived from precision structures and principles of motion draw attention to forms of mechanical beauty that have often remained underrepresented within contemporary craft discourse.

The Kinematics proposes a new direction in contemporary craft centered on mechanical movement and precision structures. Through the concept of ‘Kinematic Craft,’ the exhibition aims to foster meaningful dialogue within contemporary craft while expanding its formal, material, and technological possibilities.
