Kostin’s Lab presents Alloyed Visions, an exhibition bringing together five jewellery and art projects developed in collaboration with contemporary designers. Presented at BUAT Gallery in Barcelona’s Ciutat Vella during Barcelona Design Week 2026, the exhibition explores the meeting of material research, technical knowledge and distinct artistic approaches.
The title reflects this dual nature. It refers both to the proprietary alloys developed by Kostin’s Lab and to the combination of different creative perspectives. The laboratory contributes its materials, production expertise and technological know-how, while each designer brings their own concept and artistic language to the collaboration.
Artist list
Beatriz Biaggi, Inna Cheskidova, Tatyana Kholodnova, Emilio Narducci
The participating designers are Tatyana Kholodnova, Beatriz Biaggi, Emilio Narducci and Inna Cheskidova. Each collaboration offers a distinct approach to form, structure, tactility and material, revealing how innovative alloys can become an active part of contemporary jewellery and artistic practice.
Alloyed Visions is also presented within OFF Enjoia’t, the parallel programme of Enjoia’t organised by A-FAD. Bringing contemporary jewellery into galleries and cultural spaces across Barcelona, OFF Enjoia’t creates a city-wide platform for experimentation, exchange and new approaches to the discipline.
Material as artistic language.
Throughout Alloyed Visions, the alloy is not treated merely as a technical base. Its properties determine the structure, scale, tactility and expressive character of each work.
The exhibition presents Kostin’s Lab not only as a developer of innovative jewellery alloys, but also as a technological and creative partner for designers. It demonstrates the new forms that can emerge at the intersection of materials science, jewellery technology and artistic vision.
The Illusion of Antigravity. Tatyana Kholodnova
Created by jewellery designer Tatyana Kholodnova in collaboration with Kostin’s Lab, The Illusion of Antigravity comprises four pieces: the rings Singularity and the Event Horizon, the mismatched earrings Attraction and Repulsion, and the transformable brooch-pendant Star Sublimation.
Inspired by cosmic phenomena, the pieces share a common structural principle: a single continuous line forms the complex three-dimensional upper part of each jewel. These voluminous yet lightweight structures were made possible by PalladinGold™ 950, a palladium-based alloy containing 95% palladium and distinguished by its hardness, strength and resistance to deformation.
Touch. Beatriz Biaggi
The necklace Touch explores peace as a state of heightened awareness. In a world defined by noise, speed and continuous stimulation, the piece invites the wearer to reconnect with touch, movement and the perception of the body in space.
Made from Purentum™ 960, with rose-gold plating and a leather choker, the necklace creates a tactile dialogue between the jewellery, the body and the surrounding environment.
Prison of Light. Emilio Narducci
The collection PRISON OF LIGHT is a reflection on love, passion and mystery. Its cage-like structure both holds and protects the stone within. According to the legend accompanying the piece, the stone changes colour in the presence of true love, moving from the blue of serenity to the purple of intense passion.
The collection is made from Purentum™ 960, an alloy combining a high silver content with the strength required to support and protect the delicate iridescent stone. Material, design and narrative become parts of a single artistic statement.
Waihilau. Emilio Narducci
Emilio Narducci’s Waihilau ring captures the essence of cascading water—fluid, powerful and mesmerizing. The centrepiece features a vibrant nanosital gemstone surrounded by brilliant moissanites, set in PURENTUM™ 960 silver alloy, which combines strength with refined elegance.
The design speaks to nature’s duality: the gentle flow and raw power of water, crystallized in precious materials that honour both tradition and innovation.
Parasite. Inna Cheskidova
Parasite is a research-based art project by Inna Cheskidova exploring thoughts and inner states that intrude upon the present and gradually appropriate our “here and now”. The project is based on a study involving 38 respondents, who were invited to describe intrusive thoughts as a physical presence through shape, movement, smell, bodily sensation and modes of interaction.
At the centre of each object is a white ceramic drop, representing the present moment and acting as the “host”. Elements made from Kostin’s Lab alloys give physical form to the “parasite”. Rather than functioning as settings or decorative additions, the metals act upon the ceramic: wrapping around it, penetrating it, applying pressure, splitting it and displacing its form. The plastic and structural properties of the alloys allow invisible psychological states to be translated into material objects. The project asks whether it is possible to remain in the present once the parasite is already there.
About Kostin’s Lab
Kostin’s Lab is a family-run laboratory developing innovative alloys for jewellery and fashion accessories. Founded by Sergey Kostin, it combines technological research, production expertise and collaboration with designers to enable unconventional ideas to be realised in material form.
Its international activities are represented by Anna Kostina, Director and daughter of the laboratory’s founder. Interdisciplinary collaborations revealing the artistic and technological potential of proprietary alloys are among the laboratory’s principal areas of development.
