The ‘New Design from Düsseldorf’ exhibition, organised by the Design Department ,Peter Behrens School of Arts, Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences, is taking place for the second time. On display are over 70 outstanding projects by graduates of the New Craft, Object Design, Communication Design, Retail Design and Exhibition Design programmes, created over a period of one and a half years.
After the great success in 2023, the exhibition of the Design Department of the Peter Behrens School of Arts at Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences is now taking place for the second time.
The exhibited projects reflect current and social issues such as identity, gender, feminism, sustainability, education and science in an innovative way and using artistic and creative methods. On display are photographic works, illustrations, publications as book design, graphic design, video works/animations, jewelry, products, objects, installations, performances, VR/AR works, web and app design, artistic-experimental works, mixed-media works and much more.

Various workshops and guided tours for different age groups will be organised in this context.

Cost contribution: 10 euros per participant

The following topics are offered by graduates from their specialism:
Saturday, 07.06.
11:00 - 12:30 and 13:30 - 15:00 / Poster design / 14 - 18 years
Get an insight into the basics of design and create your own exhibition poster. The aim is to work analogue with type and design methods and get to know them.
12:00 - 14:00 / Zine with a lot of imagination / 6 - 10 years
Tell your own story in the form of self-designed booklets, with the help of craft materials and the most important tool: your own imagination.
Sunday, 08.06.
13:00 - 15:00 / Your colourful words / 10 - 14 years
In this workshop, you will create your own illustrated mini-glossary on a topic of your choice and make language visible. By combining words and pictures, complex ideas can be presented in an understandable and personalised way.
15:30 - 17:30 / Form, surface, fragment / 16 years and older
Dedicate yourself to the creative interface between art and illustration, resulting in experimental collages inspired by the graphic design of the ‘New Design from Düsseldorf’ project.
Monday, 09.06.
14:00 - 16:00 / Zine with a lot of imagination / 6 - 10 years.
Tell your own story in the form of self-designed booklets, with the help of craft materials and the most important tool: your own imagination.
Free guided tours
Important: All guided tours are inclusive! This means that the tours are designed to allow you to perceive and experience the exhibits with multiple senses.
