Intro
Designing jewelry is an inexhaustible fascination for me. Finding new forms that combine colors and materials in an elegant and at the same time provocative way is the never-faking challenge. I understand it as the core of my work to win an optimal technical solution for this aesthetic goal in each individual piece.

Artist list

Babette von Dohnanyi
Babette von Dohnanyi: Unusual pieces of jewellery, elegant and edgy at the same time, provocative, enigmatic. The next portrait in the store presents the jewellery of an extraordinary artist. Babette von Dohnanyi, who was born in Munich, has an address in Hamburg and a studio in Florence. Growing up in Cologne as the daughter of a politician, she sought and found her own personal path. She discovered her love for Florence at an early age, where she opened her own workshop and became self-employed after successfully attending the Kaufbeuren-Neugablonz State Vocational School for Glass and Jewellery. Important stages in her further career were her participation in various workshops with international artists such as Giampaolo Babetto, Erico Nagai, Ruudt Peters and Barbara.

One of her trademarks is the characteristic shape of the pentagon, which is constantly reinterpreted in many variations. Her small and multi-faceted works of art in crystalline structures look like sculptures to which she is able to lend a very special radiance. The range of materials she uses is broad, but primarily of mineral origin.

In the beginning - a fleeting idea. The first image of an object is born of the imagination. The first selection of materials will determine the aesthetics, proportions and inner tension without which the new piece would remain a soulless object. Poetically tender feelings when the hands begin to think their way into the material and mould it with growing certainty into the first design. But then, when the idea has been realised at the workbench, comes the moment of self-reflection. The artists become a distanced observer of their own work. Knowing full well that without the criticism of her own work, there will be no further artistic development.
