Intro
After its hugely popular debut at the International Crafts Fair (MIDA) in Florence, the exhibition of the competition winners organised by Florence’s Contemporary Jewellery School LAO will travel to the Netherlands, where it will be hosted by Galerie Door, founded and directed by Doreen Timmers in Nijmegen.

Artist list

Nga Ching Ko, Lois Lo, Lulu Tian, Jiangling Wang
The second leg of the PREZIOSA YOUNG travelling exhibition has just come to a close, hosted by Petra Brenner at her SCHMUCKE Galerie in Berlin. But the PY2026 journey doesn't stop there: next up, in July, is Galerie Door. A partner of the project since 2021 — back when the gallery was still based in Mariaheide — Galerie Door relocated to the picturesque city of Nijmegen in early 2025.

Art is a driving force in life. Art stimulates the senses, feeds the mind, and is a balm for the soul. Watching art is a way of reflecting on one’s own life and modern society. Galerie Door shows you contemporary art and jewellery of (inter)national artists and designers that excite. Some because of their directness, others through the original stories and yet others for the poetry and humor in the work. And all of them for their craftsmanship. Galerie Door organizes exhibitions and events for artists to gain a broader audience, more publicity and the chance of finding a new ‘home’. They offer you – the audience – a window to a different world, a new door that opens… Galerie Door’s motto: Contribute to a more beautiful world, wear art! says Doreen Timmers.

On show: jewellery by the winners of PY2026, the international competition organised by Florentine goldsmithing school Le Arti Orafe — Chinese artists Lulu Tian and Jiangling Wang, and Hong Kong-born Lois Lo and Nga Ching Ko.

The opening takes place on Saturday, July 11, from 3 to 6 PM.
Doreen Timmers and the project's curator, Alice Rendon, will be welcoming guests, with the participation of Noël Vergunst, Alderman of Culture of Nijmegen. The exhibition will remain on view until August 1.
