The artist appeals to that part of our being which is a gift, not an acquisition- and therefore more enduring.
Artist list
Armin Najib
I see myself as both an artist and a craftsperson. I think of my pieces as compositions: sometimes in alliance with the human body, and often as independent objects.
I believe art can be wearable while still carrying a strong, forceful image, a reflection of both the creator and the wearer.
Not in a traditional sense, my need to use the body as an exhibition space, a personal platform for social and political ideas, remains constant. I am drawn to the notion of making private statements about the artist’s identity through someone else’s body.
A piece is rarely complete when merely observed. It is only whenfor a photograph, but lived in, worn—not posed moving with the wearer—that the work can truly be judged. In that moment, it becomes inseparable from the wearer’s identity: from how they see themselves and also how they are seen, which involves not only biology and physics, but also psychology.
In the gallery, the viewer enters a complex relationship with the work, occupying both roles at once: wearer and observer.

Opening reception on 15th May at 7:00 pm.
Opening hours: Monday – Friday: 11.00 am – 5:00 pm.
Saturday by appointment. Closed on Sunday.
