I consider myself an artist as well as a craftsperson. The same effort found in my paintings or sculptures exists also in my jewelry, and jewelry’s nature makes it especially suited for personal or dreamlike imagery.

Bio
Armin Najib (b. Tehran, 1989) is an artist currently based in Dubai, whose practice encompasses sculpture and art jewelry. His work primarily explores kinetic mechanisms, magnetic fields, and interactive art. With a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering specializing in Solid Design, Najib's background involves extensive study and research in various methodologies and design forms. His fascination with magnetism, ergonomic placement elements, and environmental sensing has led him to develop his own techniques and tools tailored to his concepts. Najib's childhood experiences sailing with his father, a Merchant Marine Captain, instilled in him a curiosity for exploration. He views the art world as a dynamic arena where he can pose questions, seek answers, or leave them open ended.
Statement
The forms in my jewelry often develop with minimal pre planning. One cast shape suggests another, and the work evolves like a collage. I avoid being limited by a fixed idea, allowing freedom to respond and alter as the piece demands. Jewelry may act as decoration, but I believe it must also reach beyond this role to address broader aesthetic needs: form, texture, color, balance.I consider myself an artist as well as a craftsperson. The same effort found in my paintings or sculptures exists also in my jewelry, and jewelry’s nature makes it especially suited for personal or dreamlike imagery. I think of my pieces as compositions sometimes in alliance with the body, but often as independent art pieces or objects, particularly my rings, which allow this freedom.
I believe jewelry should be wearable while maintaining a strong, forceful presence. It is not meant simply to adorn or beautify. The body becomes an exhibition area for presenting ideas, reflecting the maker and the wearer, rather than enhancing attractiveness in a traditional sense.
