The mainfold practice of artist Catherine Truman is the subject of our 2016 South Australian Living Artists (SALA) Festival exhibition.Truman works in contemporary jewellery, sculpture, public art, object based installation, photography and the moving image. She is well-known for her diverse practise that largely draws inspiration from the human form and explores the affinity between art and science. She is co-founder of Adelaide’s Gray Street Workshop, a collectively run studio for artists working in jewellery and object making, and is the subject of the 2016 SALA monograph, written by Melinda Rackham and published by Wakefield Press.

At 6pm join Rebecca Evans Curator of European & Australian Decorative Arts in conversation with Catherine Truman in Gallery 9.
Headlining the evening is South Australian, indie / Alt / Rock Artist Timberwolf.
This First Friday is featured in the Umbrella: Winter City Sounds festival presented by MusicSA.

Join our 5pm tour of the exhibition celebrating SALA Festival feature artist Catherine Truman.
The human body, its movement, limitations and our obsessive drive to understand it are abiding concerns for Truman.
This Auslan tour coincides with our First Friday program.
