Intro
Siembra y sendero is a collection of jewellery that refers to those colours of the earth, of the essence, which are undoubtedly in Africa, but which we also have in Europe.

I traveled to Ethiopia in January 2023. An intense journey through an ancestral country that captivated me. It filled my spirit with experiences and left a mark in my head, small seeds that have been germinating over the months. A time in which, without consciously thinking about that experience, I now discover that it has been impregnating my artistic expression in one way or another during this not-so-long period. And so this collection was born, which began to take shape in a totally organic way in what I consider to be a natural evolution of forms I had already been working with. The incorporation of fragments of a collection of wallpaper I received was the definitive counterpoint to this collection that has been slowly taking shape over time. Earth, base substrate, humus and clay. And in front of that almost monochrome palette, my usual palette when painting: the burst of colours that also define African expression and my own. Colours that are always in my watercolours and those perennial blues that, like a constant sea, sustain all my works. Through them I sail in search of nuances and new ports.

I arrive to Malaga and I introduce myself with this selection of works, a brief tour of some of my contemporary jewellery projects which, before coming here, were shown in different exhibitions around the world.

Among the other collections which do not talk about Africa, you can see the collection Cerca Lejos, created in pandemic and which alludes to those strange times we all lived ‘two metres away’... You will also see two strong pieces: The Big Dive, which refer to bubbles under water, and to the dive of the Ama, the women pearl hunters of Japan who fish by their lungs in search of the prized oyster. I have also brought some painted pieces that deal with one of my constant themes: hands, hands that think, make, discover, pursue and connect. And finally, two large necklaces inspired by Charles Bukowski's poem ‘Splash’: The elephant dreams with you. Alongside the pieces of jewellery, a watercolour of an Ethiopian girl and a small collection of postcards with the impressions I painted when in Ethiopia on my travel notebook.

This is the first time I have put together this selection and therefore the first time that I am confronted with a journey that is already getting on for a few years now.

It is nice to see it blooming under the beautiful light of Malaga.
