Intro
This solo exhibition presents a body of work created over three years, crossing three territories, three inner states, and three defining moments of the artist's life. Through this series, the landscape becomes the reflection of a personal transformation, moving through grief, emancipation, and rebirth.

Mélanie Denis
Created largely in Mont Bélair, a vast forested territory on the outskirts of Quebec City, Canada, the first works bear witness to a deep attachment to a place of refuge that became the setting of a rupture and a necessary departure. The dark and silent winter landscapes gradually give way to a vibrant palette where the signs of a transition toward a new territory begin to emerge. The final phase, Renaissance, marks the arrival in an urban environment chosen in accordance with my values and my reclaimed freedom. The colours soften, the landscapes become more human, and creation rediscovers a space of trust, gentleness, and free expression. Through Transition, the territory is never merely a backdrop; it becomes an imprint of the intimate, a witness to the passages that shape an existence.
